Community Impact Grants
United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region accepts Community Impact Applications for collaborative projects designed to address the areas of Education, Income and Health. Grants are based on a one to two-year funding cycle subject to annual review and funding availability. Any Dutchess or Orange County 501(c)3 non-profit is eligible to submit an application. Collaborations with other non-profits and/or other organizations and businesses are strongly encouraged.

Women’s Leadership Fund Grant Application
The Women’s Leadership Fund (WLF) has grants available for collaborative projects designed to promote women’s financial stability and independence and/or opportunities for girls. WLF, a special initiative of United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, promotes the independence, growth, and self-determination of women and girls by supporting projects that create systemic change and move women and girls toward financial stability and independence. Funding is based on a one-year cycle subject to review and funding availability. Any Orange County 501(c)3 non-profit is eligible to apply. Collaborations with other nonprofits and/or other organizations and businesses are strongly encouraged.

Emergency Food & Shelter Program Application
A Local Board made up of representatives from United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region, American Red Cross – Orange/Sullivan, Catholic Charities, Church of the Good Shepherd, Community Members, Emergency Housing Group, Inc., Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, Guild of St. Margaret Soup Kitchen, Jewish Family Service of Orange County, New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, and Salvation Army determines how funds awarded to Orange County will be distributed among the emergency food and shelter programs run by local service organizations in the area. The Local Board is responsible for recommending agencies to receive any funds available under this program.
Under the terms of the grant from the National Board, governmental or private voluntary organizations chosen to receive funds must:
- have the capability to provide emergency food and/or shelter services year round,
- be private voluntary non-profits or units of government,
- have an accounting system, and will pay all vendors with the organization’s check, store/vendor issued credit card, or organization’s debit card,
- practice non-discrimination,
- have a voluntary board if a private, not-for-profit,
- not be debarred or suspended from receiving Federal funds. Qualifying organizations are urged to apply.
