Marion S. Murphy Endowment Fund
Orange County United Way’s Endowment Fund in memory of Marion S. Murphy is a way for individuals to make permanent gifts, both large and small, that will grow over time.
People can make contributions of:
- Cash
- Securities
- Real estate
- Life insurance
- Retirement assets
- Tangible assets
Every dollar contributed to the fund, whether cash, securities, real estate, or any other form of contribution will be placed permanently in the fund. As these investments grow over time, they will begin to generate annual income to support the work of Orange County United Way. Marion S. Murphy
Marion S. Murphy was Orange County Clerk from 1981 to 1993. She was a strong supporter and former Board member of Orange County United Way. The memory of Marion S. Murphy remains very strong in Orange County. Marion’s contributions of time, energy, and financial resources to United Way, as well as to the entire community, were significant.
United Way first recognized Marion’s work and community commitment by establishing the “Marion S. Murphy Neighbors Helping Neighbors Award”. This endowment fund, which originated with a gift from Marion’s family, is a fitting next step in carrying forward her commitment to the people of Orange County.
